Sweden has a rich tradition of sonic architects and Cari Lekebusch sits high on that techno totem alongside his peers Adam Beyer, Joel Mull, Alexi Delano and Jesper Dahlbäck. Based in Stockholm, Cari Lekebusch’s began his path into techno like most – collecting hip-hop and electro in the 80’s. However, his prolific techno career didn’t really start until 1994, when he set up his own imprint, Hybrid. That’s when the floodgates opened to a torrent of clinical grooves and machine language on a host of other influential Swedish labels such as Adam Beyer’s Code Red, Truesoul and Drumcode.

When it comes to alias and pseudonyms, there’s few that cover as much ground as Cari Lekebusch, with the platoon of different guises he travels under. Agent Orange, Braincell, C-Blast, Cerebus, Crushed Insect, DJ Mystiska K and Magenta being just a few of the twenty other names he goes under. Not to mention being in groups like the acclaimed Pump Panel who’s remix of New Order’s ‘Confusion’, famously featured in the rave scene in the cult film, ‘Blade’.

Behind the decks, you’ll find a relaxed Lekebusch pummelling through high octane sounds on stages all over the planet sounding as comfortable on a panoramic stage like in Awakenings to a sweat box basement in Dalston.
It doesn’t matter where – Cari works diligently and with the quiet confidence he has exuded throughout his career
